Just a quick update on the show and life. I've been working on taking care of some personal and professional responsibilities, so it's been a bit tough to schedule interviews over the past month. But, it looks like we're turning a corner.
In this episode, I make a bunch of excuses and talk about some of the cool things around Washington County that the family and I have been doing over the past few weeks.
Here's what I'm talking about in this episode:
- Rettler Run 5K
- Kewaskum Christmas Parade
- Shalom Zoo Drive-thru Christmas Lights
- Taste of Washington County

Hey there, as the kids say, it's been a minute. I'm Fuzz Martin, and this is Fifteen Minutes with Fuzz—a show about positive people, places and things in and around Washington County, Wisconsin, I'm just checking in with you right now to tell you that the show is only on a brief hiatus. With the holiday, I've got some new projects going on. There's work life responsibilities, finding time to do interviews right now has been my biggest hurdle. So the show is 15 minutes with Fuzz. But it typically takes about two hours to schedule the show, record it, edit it, publish it, make sure you guys know about it on social media, et cetera. So actively lining up new interviews, gotten through some of the hard part of my schedule, and we should be good. Moving forward. Knock on wood. I'm not going to knock on wood, though, because if I do, I'm going to have to edit that out. And that will take me more time.

Enough of all that, how have you been you good? I'm good. Here's some things that I've been seeing around the area lately that I thought I'd check in with and talk to you a little bit about.

The Rettler Run is coming up on Saturday, December 31. What is the Rettler Run? Well, each year Pete, Pete Rettler celebrates his anniversary of starting his running streak. His streak has been going on for 29 years now. That's pretty unbelievable, right? And again, every time that we mentioned his streak, we're supposed to knock on wood, so I guess it will for this one. There you go. But again, he hasn't missed a day of running and 29 years, and he celebrates every year by promoting a charity. And this year, again, we're grateful that he's going to be helping out the Wisconsin 9/11 Memorial. He's got a $10,000 goal that he's looking to reach and we're working to get there right now. So the run itself is on Saturday, December 31. New Year's Eve at the Kewaskum annex building. From noon till three, there's a chance for you to win some great bourbon as part of their door prizes. They've got 29 different bottles of bourbon from Jeff spirits on Main. Tickets are only $29 You can get them at RettlerRun.com That's R E T T L E R RUN.com. It's a 5k. But it's very laid back. If you're a serious runner, it's good for you. If you're an up and coming runner, it's good for you if you're a walker, also good for you. Everybody will take part. It's a lot of fun. And again, there's chance for you to win one of 29 different bottles or even you know 29 of 29 different bottles of bourbon if you're lucky. As part of the door prizes. There's also a chance for you to win a four hour rental of Pete's whiskey shack fully stocked with $500 worth of bourbon. If you don't know Pete Rettler has a mobile whiskey shack that is a it's a trailer it was in the Kewaskum Christmas parade recently. It's a trailer that is fully decked out. It's really cool. It's a lot of fun. And there's a chance for you to win that as part of the Rettler Run. So find a Rettler Run sponsor, you can go to RettlerRun.com. To learn more about that.

Speaking of Pete, I took part in the Christmas parade, the Kewaskum Christmas parade this past Sunday. It was great to be out in the community. I've realized over the years that I've been in more parades than I've actually watched parades in my life, which might be sad now that I think of it. But it was great time to go there. My daughter was in the parade with us. She's seven, she knew more people than I did. I think she's gonna run for office one day. And by one day, I mean, hopefully, more than 11 years from now when she turns 18. I also heard that Kewaskum sold out its cookie hunt after 45 minutes. So kudos to the Kewaskum Area Chamber of Commerce for their efforts. There a whole lot of fun.

Let's see three other things going on. This isn't really a fun thing. I was locked out of Facebook briefly because of their security protocols. And I didn't do anything wrong. They just locked me out and maybe do some verification stuff. It was a lot of fun. Anyway, that was one of those times sucks that took away from doing the show recently. So thank you, Mr. Zuckerberg.

And Enchantment in the Park in West Bend's Regnar Park is going on right now. They've got a 40 foot Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer as part of this year's exhibit. My family and some friends went there this past weekend. I didn't wear longjohns. That was a mistake. It was colder than I thought it was going to be. But you know what? It warmed my heart so we were able to stay for well plus they have little fire pits over by the stage and those kept me warm as well. But it's $10 to get in. It's a lot of fun and those $10 Help out local cheer. Are these it's Enchantment in the Park in West Bend's Regnar Park and we make a habit of going every year. Not just because it's my voice on the radio commercials. But that's fun too.

This weekend my family is going to the drive thru Christmas lights at Shalom Zoo. If you haven't done it before, that's a lot of fun. They do a great job decorating it's $10 per person. Children two and under are free. It's open every day from one till 1pm till 8:30pm through New Year's Eve, but they are closed on Christmas Eve and Christmas day as you would expect any place to be.

A week ago, we attended the taste of Washington County for the Boys and Girls Club of Washington County. That was last Wednesday. It was a whole lot of fun. We saw so many friends, we ate so much good food. It was a great time. If you've never been to one, I highly suggest you go next year. That is the taste of Washington County for Washington County, Boys and Girls Club a great time way to go to Jay Fisher. And everybody is that's on the board. I know they work very hard and make that happen. Gail Burnside, who works with me at EPIC Creative. She was the co chair of the events and she busted her butt to make that a success. So congratulations and kudos to her.

It's certainly towards 15 minutes. But interviews are starting to come together and we'll be back with a normal episode. Hopefully next Tuesday. Thank you for listening.
